The running club started this week with over 85 students, staff and parents in attendance. Students enjoyed stretching, walking, skipping, jogging and running. Club sponsors stressed the importance of setting running goals, warming up, stretching, cooling down and just having fun with the running experience.

Club members are looking forward to the Hurricane Run, their first race on the season. The Hurricane run is an annual race that began in 1981 on Dauphin Island. This year's race is momentous in that it falls on the 30^th anniversary of Hurricane Frederic, which brought widespread devastation to Mobile County and the surrounding areas. The Hurricane Race has an 8:10 a.m. start time for the 5K and a 9:00 a.m. start time for the Kids' Fun Run.
