Fourth grade students participated in "electricity fun". The goal was to describe how electric circuits can be used to produce light, heat, sound, and magnetic fields. Students were involved in building circuits, lighting bulbs, making flashlights, and wiring model houses. Students completed these investigations in an effort to:
*Identify ways to use and conserve electrical energy
*Identify characteristics of parallel and series circuits
*Classify materials as conductors, nonconductors, and
insulators of electricity and heat
*Identify relationships among charge, current, and
potential energy
*Identify components of a circuit
