We are excited to announce Ms. Debbie Turner, our Library Media Specialist has achieved National Board Certification. National Board Certification is a voluntary process established by the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards. Certification is achieved through a detailed performance-based assessment that takes one to three years to complete and measures what accomplished teachers should know and be able to do in teaching that directly impacts student achievement and learning. The process is designed to recognize and reward great teachers and to make them better. It includes a teacher being assessed on knowledge of the subjects being taught, building a portfolio that includes student work samples, assignments, videotapes and a thorough analysis of daily teaching activities. Teachers achieving National Board Certification have met high standards through study, expert evaluation, self-assessment and peer review. We are proud of Ms. Debbie Turner and her role as Library Media Specialist at Dodge Elementary. Keep up the good work!
